How to talk to parents

Talking with parents about sensitive things can be tricky - but important.
 

Here are some ideas to help you:

  • Plan what you want to say.

  • Pick a good time to talk.

  • Say it straight out that you need to talk.

  • Tell them how you feel and why you feel that way.

 

 

Some hints:

You could leave a note

"I need to talk"

on their mirror or pillow.

You could ask them to come and tuck

you in - even if they usually don't.

You could help them with something

(eg. in the kitchen).

You could ask

"when is a good time to talk?"

Keep trying - even if it's hard.
